Nashville Joins National United Against Hate Week: Community Event and Press Conference on September 24th
[FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE] — In a powerful show of unity and commitment to combating hate, Nashville will participate in this year’s national United Against Hate Week of Action. We invite all Nashvillians to join us on Tuesday, September 24th, for a meaningful day of community engagement and action.
Nashville is proud to stand alongside cities nationwide in this critical effort. United Against Hate Week, running from September 21-27, 2024, is a national call to action to address and counter the rise in hate and intolerance in our communities. This movement, founded by civic leaders in Northern California in response to increasing expressions of hate, aims to empower residents to take a stand and promote respect, diversity, and civil discourse.
Nashville's participation in United Against Hate Week reflects our city’s dedication to inclusivity and support for constituencies targeted by hate groups. The organizers of the Nashville Day of Action have created a toolkit that offers simple ways for individuals and businesses to get involved and amplify the message of unity during this event.
On Tuesday, September 24th, at 3:30 PM Metro-Council-At-Large Zulfat Suara and Rep. Aftyn Behn with Nashville Against Nazis will support local youth and demonstrate the city’s commitment to community service.
A press conference will follow at 5:00 PM to discuss the significance of United Against Hate Week and our city's role in fostering unity and inclusion.
WHEN: Community Event on Tuesday, September 24 at 3:30; Press Conference followed at 5 PM
WHERE: Looby Community Center, 2301 Rosa L Parks Blvd, Nashville, TN 37228
